All in 1

i m back to my blog. Seem like i was missing for so long, actually not that long. When bac to uni, damn lazy to come out on9 to sit couple hours to write an post. Besides, i was busy with 2 mid-term exam which on last friday and tuesday. i feel sorry to Miss Azura that i dint update my blog on time. so now i decide to combine all 5 posts in 1. Here i go...

9th September 2009

Today lecture is abt facsimile system and paging system. When I was small age, my home had a fax machine which for business use. The machine is exactly a phone with a scanner inside for copy the documents. Every time it rang, I picked up but no human voice come from the other side..jz sound “dodo…dodo…dodo…”. My mum told me, if heard that sound just press the green button there…that green button write a ‘START’ word. So every time the phone rang, I sure will volunteer to pick up the phone and press the green button. I wonder y that time I m so ‘curious’ with it, jz a fax machine wat. But now when I stay at office, once I hear the machine rang, I will feel geram with the sound cos nobody wan to stop the “rang….rang…rang…” although the machine will auto accept all the call from other.

The paging system remind me that the pager always appear in the 90’s hong kong drama. The hero and heroine sure have their own pager to contact each other. As I remember, it appears quite long time. After tat no more d, cos the cell phones were used at large. This lecturer remind me that still have this kind of things in this world…haha..

6th September 2009
today, lecturer continue with chapter 6 Telecommunication. This lecture is about Telephone System and Celuller Phone System. This 2 system really bring a lot of convenience to me. Look back to my secondary period, i used to contact my frenz with telephone. everday sure will call someone to ask abt homework or talk nonsense...sometime talked for couple hours. we like to call this as 'cooking porridge'..:p... i like 'cooking porridge' cos we could shared alot from that. *wink*

after graduated, we were seldom stay at home since most of us further study in town. we were no longer use telephone to keep in touch. most of us were using cellphone now and for sure we jz sms to contact each other. we are not able to 'cooking porridge' with cellphone since the cost rate high till can make us starving for no money. haha~~ 3 years ago, I used my salary to buy myself a 'whitey' z520i, i m still using it although it almost outdated. This 'whitey' be with me a quite long time, have a 'deep relationship' with it. but i force to plan buy a new 1 since it is going to die T-T, but still cant find a suitable model for myself..so keep researching of it.

RazakSAT, named after the second Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Abdul Razak, is a mini class satelite weighing 180kg and the first remote sensing satellite in the world to be obiting the equator. RazakSAT was launched on 14 July 2009 at Kwajalein Island in the Republic of Marshall Islands.

The equatorial orbiting satellite would enable observations of the earth's surface to be made more often compared with a polar obiting satellite. RazakSAT can revisit the same spot four to six times a day and has a 2.5m resolution. Two 'baby' satellites, CubeSAT and InnoSAT, weighing approximately less than 10kg each were also attached to the body of RazakSAT. CubeSAT was developed by Astronautic Technology (M) Sdn Bhd which InnoSAT was developed by Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Perlis. These baby satellites are to take images for research and development purpose. Government agencies such as the military and police would vet requests for sensitive images. With RazakSAT, Malaysia now has its own satellite to monitor security in the country, natural resources and maritime activity.

30th August 2009
well...today i dint attend the class. last 2 day, received a phone call from home. My mum said that brother's was injured becos fall down from the bicycle. His bone was broke so went for operation. aiks....my mum seldom call me when i was in the uni. Once have any bad news onli will contact me..haiz....hate this kind of feeling so much. So i decided to bac home on Saturday since Monday is National Day. but i force to absent for all class on Sunday. Feel sorry to all lecturer. Pls dun blame me cos i feel that family is important. :p

Coaxial cable, or coax, is an electrical cable with an inner conductor surrounded by a tubular insulating layer typically of a flexible material with a high dielectric constant, all of which are surrounded by a conductive layer (typically of fine woven wire for flexibility, or of a thin metallic foil), and finally covered with a thin insulating layer on the outside. The term coaxial comes from the inner conductor and the outer shield sharing the same geometric axis. Coaxial cable was invented by English engineer and mathematician Oliver Heaviside, who first patented the design in 1880.

Twisted pair cabling is a form of wiring in which two conductors (the forward and return conductors of a single circuit) are twisted together for the purposes of canceling out electromagnetic interference (EMI) from external sources; for instance, electromagnetic radiation from Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cables, and crosstalk between neighboring pairs.

An optical fiber (or fibre) is a glass or plastic fiber that carries light along its length. Fiber optics is the overlap of applied science and engineering concerned with the design and application of optical fibers. Optical fibers are widely used in fiber-optic communications, which permits transmission over longer distances and at higher bandwidths (data rates) than other forms of communications. Fibers are used instead of metal wires because signals travel along them with less loss, and they are also immune to electromagnetic interference. Fibers are also used for illumination, and are wrapped in bundles so they can be used to carry images, thus allowing viewing in tight spaces. Specially designed fibers are used for a variety of other applications, including sensors and fiber lasers.

Light is kept in the core of the optical fiber by total internal reflection. This causes the fiber to act as a waveguide. Fibers which support many propagation paths or transverse modes are called multi-mode fibers (MMF), while those which can only support a single mode are called single-mode fibers(SMF). Multi-mode fibers generally have a larger core diameter, and are used for short-distance communication links and for applications where high power must be transmitted. Single-mode fibers are used for most communication links longer than 550 metres (1,800 ft).

Joining lengths of optical fiber is more complex than joining electrical wire or cable. The ends of the fibers must be carefully cleaved, and then spliced together either mechanically or by fusing them together with an electric arc. Special connectors are used to make removable connections.

first lesson after semester break, cant deny that i still in holiday mood. Time went so fast until i am not able to adapt it but force to. What a rainy day, it is good to have a nice dream on bed...but this all jz my dream..because i still in the class since 8am in this morning. Try to pay fully attention to lecturer although very sleepy.

today lesson is all abt internet...so shame that although i using internet for so long, still have many basic i do not know wat is that actually. So many years jz know to use internet for msn, email, browsing web, blogging, facebook & etc. Luckily lecturer lecture a lot of information abt this. At least now i know more abt it and this make me easier to explore more things abt internet. So appreciate have this chance to take this paper. *blink*
